Job Summary
The Upper GI/HPB Fellow role at Monash Health involves multidisciplinary patient care, teaching and supervision of registrars and junior medical staff, involvement in major UGI/HPB resections, on-site operative lists, and participation in Acute Surgery Unit rosters. Responsibilities include patient assessment and management with treating consultants, care coordination, assisting and performing major UGI/HPB procedures (up to ~9 lists per week), independent fellow lists, supervision and feedback of junior staff, student interaction and teaching, MDT organisation, and contribution to governance and organizational initiatives. The role emphasizes clinical leadership within a diverse, teaching hospital environment, with on-call components and on-site activity for public patients; collaboration with nursing and allied health professionals and adherence to Monash Health policies. Required Qualifications
- Primary medical degree (MBBS) or equivalent
- FRACS (General Surgery) or equivalent
- Australian working rights
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Employee Working with Children Check
