Job Summary
Prepare NEPA documentation for categorical exclusion-level projects, environmental assessments, and environmental impact statements. Gather and provide data for environmental reports, assist in field surveys including threatened species habitat and wetland delineations, and utilize ArcGIS Pro for data gathering and exhibit creation. Support the preparation of environmental permit applications, write memoranda and reports, collect correlating data, maintain records, and operate technical equipment. This internship is available in Indianapolis, St. Louis, or Springfield, with hourly compensation ranging from $21 to $40 depending on education level.
Required Qualifications
- Interns must be actively enrolled in a relevant field of study such as Environmental Science, Environmental Biology, Natural Resources, Biology, Ecology, or Environmental Engineering
- The ideal candidate will have completed their sophomore year
- be enrolled in an accredited 4-year college or university
- be familiar with Geographic Information System software
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license
