Job Summary
Establish and maintain material planning methods and safety stock strategies to ensure material availability while monitoring delivery times and forecasting methods. Execute and monitor purchase orders from placement to delivery, ensuring correct materials arrive at the right place and time. Adjust delivery schedules with suppliers based on inventory availability and communicate shortages or risks to customers. Monitor inventory levels to dispose of inactive, obsolete, or excess inventory following established guidelines. This role supports Caterpillar's global team in building sustainable communities through efficient supply chain management.
Required Qualifications
- Currently attending a 4-year accredited university/college
- Minimum 2.8/4.0 GPA
- This position requires a 5-days in office schedule
- The primary location for this position is San Diego, CA
- Relocation assistance is available for this position
