Job Summary
Represent the State of Oregon and its people in administrative, civil, juvenile dependency, and criminal proceedings as an Assistant Attorney General. Work on ongoing cases, client advice, and pressing issues including complex litigation, criminal law, and constitutional matters. Rotate from one division to another after the first year to gain breadth of experience across diverse legal disciplines. Serve in Salem or Portland offices with hybrid/remote options for in-state candidates. Complete the two-year program from September 2027 through August 2029, with eligibility to apply for permanent positions after the first year.
Required Qualifications
- Recent law school graduate
- Not yet engaged in the practice of law
- Admitted to the Oregon Bar
- Eligible to practice law in Oregon courts by or soon after September 2027
