Job Summary
Conduct quality audits and new product development testing for sporting goods, including detailed measurements and equipment maintenance. Review returned goods, provide feedback to product managers and engineers, and maintain testing logs and QA documents. Learn to operate specialized test equipment such as height gages, micrometers, helmet drop testers, and compression machines. Assist the Engineering team at the Asian Technical Center in developing new testing methods and support product development for bats, helmets, protective equipment, and balls by creating specification documents. This co-op program runs from May to December 2027 at Rawlings' O'Fallon, MO Tech Center, reporting to the Director of Research and Engineering.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, or Materials Science
- currently enrolled in school
- Junior standing or higher
- Ability to complete and handle detailed measuring
- ability to maintain the quality of work under stressful situation
- Knowledge of common manufacturing techniques
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and process control analysis
- excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- strong organizational skills
- Computer skills – Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, SQC Pack, Minitab, CHARTrunner, LABVIEW, or any other data acquisition and analysis software
- Ability to work in a demanding, dynamic environment where precision, quality and confidentiality is top priority
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of hands-on product and process testing
- Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, or Materials Science (Junior standing or higher preferred)
