Job Summary
Design, build, and maintain enterprise applications or optimize data infrastructure for scientific and business solutions. Develop responsive user interfaces, backend services, APIs, and microservices in Java, or construct and manage databases and data pipelines. Implement server-side logic, workflows, and data integration while ensuring efficient collection, processing, and secure storage of information. Own full-stack components end to end or leverage technologies including Python, SQL, and visualization tools to support analytics and data science foundations. This 11-week onsite program places interns primarily in Lake County, IL, with potential placements across U.S. AbbVie or Allergan Aesthetics locations.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, AI or related majors with a minor or concentration in one of the above fields
- Graduation date between December 2027 – June 2028
- Must be enrolled in university the semester following your internship and graduate within 1-year post internship
Desired Qualifications
- school or work experience with the following: Front End — NodeJS, Vue.js, HTML
- school or work experience with the following: Back End — Java, JavaScript
- school or work experience with the following: Full Stack — Java, SQL, TypeScript
- APEX or Python
- ability to apply generative AI to custom software solutions
- Public code portfolio (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket) highly preferred
- strong programming experience in Java, Python, R, and SQL
- Experience using APIs to extract data and applying large language models or machine learning algorithms
- Previous internship or related experience
- Technical and business insight, strong analytical skills, and creative problem-solving abilities
- Proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
- Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher
