Job Summary
Learn from service technicians to handle real customer equipment repairs while adhering to dealership policies and professional ethics. Complete work assignments thoroughly and punctually, maintaining relationships with clients and peers. Participate in training opportunities and rotate on-call responsibilities for up to a week at a time. Perform other duties as required, including assisting with equipment sampling and calibration in difficult areas. Requires valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to work in extreme weather with occasional outdoor exposure.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) equivalent
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
- Passing a driving record (MVR), criminal history background checks, employment verification, and drug screen
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, walk on unpaved terrain, talk, reach with arms and hands, have good manual dexterity, use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, handle or feel, hear alarms/telephones/normal speaking voice
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, steps, and traversing catwalk grating, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and kneeling on a frequent basis and working in confined space
- Manual dexterity required to complete work tasks through safe and proper operation of power and hand tools, and motor vehicles
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to move, position, and carry loads of up to 5 pounds upstairs and loading on four-foot-high surfaces frequently
- Strenuous physical work involving heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to perform occasional outdoor work in extreme weather conditions (hot/cold)
- Ability to walk on uneven terrain
- Ability to handle occasional exposure to insects
- Ability to handle regular and long-term exposure to work areas containing toxic/caustic/hazardous/volatile chemicals
- Ability to handle extreme conditions such as hot/cold
- Ability to handle sharp hazards
- Ability to handle dust/fumes/gasses
- Ability to handle electrical shock
- Ability to handle moving mechanical parts
- Ability to handle high pitched and/or constant loud noise
- Ability to assist with sampling, calibration of equipment and process instruments calibration / maintenance in difficult areas
- Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including cold weather gear, eye protection, gloves, and provided uniform
- Willingness to maintain a clean and safety-conscientious work environment
- Willingness to work long hours and overtime during holidays, weekends, and evenings
- Willingness to rotate on-call responsibilities for up to a week at a time
- Ability to adhere to dealership work hours, policies, procedures, and rules governing professional staff behavior
- Ability to adhere to dealership and professional ethics governing the handling of confidential information
- Ability to assume personal responsibility for his/her actions and activities
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with dealership employees, clients, and customers
- Ability to develop a self-awareness of attitudes, values, and behavior patterns that influence the work environment
- Ability to complete work assignments in a thorough, consistent, and punctual manner
- Ability to learn from Service Technicians how to deal with real customers who need their equipment fixed correctly and in a timely manner
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and peers
- Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
- Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of AVE-PLP's DNA
- Excellent customer relationship skills
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience and knowledge of large ag equipment or commercial/turf equipment
- One year of customer service experience
