Job Summary
Manage inpatient and outpatient care at Pain Matrix Geelong, developing advanced procedural skills in neuromodulation and participating in innovative cognitive-behavioural programs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatry, psychology, and allied health clinicians to deliver comprehensive pain management services. Engage actively in quality assurance, teaching, and research activities supported by Pain Matrix and Epworth Hospital. This second-year Pain Medicine Trainee role begins in February 2027 for a 12-month appointment, offering full-time or part-time (minimum 22 hours) hours within a supportive environment adjacent to Deakin University's Medical School.
Required Qualifications
- Have successfully completed Year 1 Pain Training or equivalent experience
- Are enrolled in or eligible for enrolment in the Pain Medicine Training Program, Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists
- Have passed or are eligible to sit the Foundations of Pain Medicine Examination
- Have completed their primary specialty Fellowship or are in the final stages with eligibility for training credit for Pain Medicine
- Demonstrate strong clinical skills
- Demonstrate commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork
- Demonstrate excellence in patient-centred care
- Ahpra medical registration (general or specialist)
- Ability to bill relevant MBS items
- Evidence of commitment to ongoing medical education, research, and quality improvement
- Annual Influenza vaccination
- Satisfactorily clear a National Police Check
- Hold a valid employee Working with Children Check
