Job Summary
Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities by organizing client financial information and using tax software to calculate liabilities, deductions, and credits. Conduct tax research to interpret laws and analyze financial statements to identify tax-saving opportunities and compliance issues. Communicate with clients to gather information and explain tax concepts, while collaborating with internal teams to provide timely updates and recommendations. Ensure adherence to regulations and deadlines by maintaining organized tax files and tracking changes in tax laws. Travel frequently and unpredictably depending on client requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting, or a Master's degree in accounting or taxation
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time
- Travel may be frequent and unpredictable, depending on client's requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Actively pursuing the required education and credits to qualify for the CPA exam, with the intention of obtaining CPA licensure
- Cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher
- Actively working towards achieving CPA or Enrolled Agent licensure or relevant certification, if not already attained
- Responsible for completing the minimum CPE credit requirement
- Experience with CCH Prosystem FX
- Experience with Axcess Tax
- Experience with Axcess Document
- Experience with Axcess Workstream
- Experience with Thomson Reuters Fixed Assets CS
- Experience with Checkpoint for Tax Research
