Job Summary
Deliver exceptional, real-world, enquiry-based Physics and Chemistry lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum for senior grades. Design rigorous lesson plans, prepare students for IGCSE exams, and conduct ongoing assessments to adjust instructional delivery. Infuse passion for learning into daily instruction while providing regular student feedback and communicating with parents through conferences. Attend weekly feedback meetings with Deans, participate in professional development, and contribute to co-curricular programming and assigned supervision duties.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Science with Physics and Chemistry as a major or a similar degree
- Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
- SACE registered
- Physics and Chemistry as a major to the third-year level at the university
- Grade 8 - 12 experience teaching Physical Science at the secondary school level
- Experience and/or understanding of Cambridge curriculum objectives
- Ability to lead a classroom independently
- Understanding of and passion for enquiry based, student-centered learning
- Deep understanding of children and ability to connect with the specific age group that you teach
- Team player and enjoyment of group problem solving
- Adept at using technology for instruction
