Job Summary
Fall Intern for Samsung Research AI Center in Mountain View, CA, focusing on developing novel deep learning/reinforcement learning algorithms for natural language processing, contributing to cross-disciplinary research, and publishing in top conferences. The role involves building adaptive, personalized, contextual, and secure AI models for on-device Samsung device interactions, with a flexible start date for a 3-month timeframe (Sept–Dec). Responsibilities include implementing NLU/NLP/ML algorithms, contributing to research activities, and generating solutions suitable for patents.
Required Qualifications
- Current Ph.D. student in CS, EE, or related field
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: LLM model architecture, training/finetuning techniques, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), reasoning and action planning
- Experience in planning, tool use, agent AI, and agent memory for autonomous systems
- Experience in knowledge augmented AI technologies (language prompts, knowledge graphs, neuro-symbolic learning)
- Experience in conversational AI technologies (NLP, dialogue, state tracking, policy learning)
- Experience in multimodal AI technologies
- Experience in on-device AI technologies (lightweight model design)
- Proficiency in a neural network library (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Track record of research/publications in ML/AI venues (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, IJCAI, CVPR, ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, TACL)
