Job Summary
Academic Instruction for ELA and/or Math based on IEP requirements; support IEP goals through programming to support daily living skills, academic goals, behaviors and social goals; guidance SEL supports and small student support activities or counseling as needed; attend orientation training; maintain attendance data and individual student portfolios; duties as needed by coordinators/director; timesheets for payroll. Temporary, summer Special Education program in Fitchburg Public Schools (Fitchburg, MA) running July 6, 2026 to August 6, 2026 (Mon-Thu), with additional preparation hours; compensation includes $35/hour for uncertified teachers and up to $45/hour for certified teachers (NTE 100 hours). Requires demonstrated experience with IEPs, curriculum development, and collaboration with educators and families. This role is contingent on standard background checks (fingerprinting and CORI) and compliance with ADA/non-discrimination policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary license
- Knowledge of current education legislation/regulations
- Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents and advocate for children
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Belief in commitment to increasing personal growth for students
- Experience and ability to meet the needs of students with multiple needs
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing curriculum and/or project-based enrichment activities
- Experience with literacy & science integration
- Experience with Technology and classroom application
