Job Summary
Conduct individual and group academic counseling sessions to advance student learning and self-awareness. Coordinate standardized testing programs, orientation activities, and scholarship initiatives while assisting homebound students and managing student course registration. Provide consultation to staff, parents, and community agencies to foster student growth, maintain strict confidentiality, and uphold school behavioral standards. Establish open communication lines regarding academic and behavioral progress, participate in faculty meetings, and assist administrators with master scheduling and instructional planning. Perform related duties as assigned by administration in accordance with state certification guidelines and school policies.
Required Qualifications
- Meet state certification guidelines for guidance counseling
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Must be available for daily contact with students
- Must be available for daily contact with parents
- Must be available for daily contact with other professionals
- Must be available for contact with community and division-level staff
- Must be available for attendance at faculty and department meetings
- Must be available to cooperate with other members of the staff
- Must be available to work in accordance with school/system policies and practices
