Job Summary
Implement nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, including planning daily routines for children with health concerns and administering routine medications with written permission. Obtain and document vital signs, contact parents regarding health updates, and provide basic first-aid care at the school site. Work with health aides to maintain student health records and collaborate with staff to support a student with significant needs in a classroom setting. This temporary role covers the 2026-27 school year only for Springfield Public Schools in Springfield, Oregon.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Current and valid Oregon License to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- At least Six (6) months experience working in a hospital, community or home health clinical setting with patients/clients who have chronic health conditions or require technology-supported care, such as enteral feeding tubes tracheostomies, ventilators, insulin pumps or continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), seizue-monitoring devices, oxygen therapy or other specialized medical equipment
- Valid state issued driver's license and insured vehicle available for use on the job
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain certification within thirty (30) days of the start date
