Job Summary
Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs while monitoring and assessing their academic, emotional, and social progress through formal and informal testing. Design and execute instructional plans that accommodate individual student requirements, collaborate with general education teachers and ARD committees to modify curricula, and manage student behavior in accordance with district policies. Plan and supervise teacher aides, maintain professional relationships with parents and community members, and conduct ARD committee meetings for assigned students. Work 187 days per year, demonstrating professional ethics and utilizing technology to facilitate life-long learning for all students.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Texas Teaching Certificate, with required endorsements for subject/level assigned or other permits as approved by state
- ESL Certification, required (only for English Language Arts positions)
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year of student teaching or approved internship
- Communicate effectively (verbal and written)
