Job Summary
Bilingual Elementary Teacher needed for anticipated vacancies at Advanced Scholars Academy, McAllen ISD, McAllen, Texas. Responsibilities include delivering instruction in 4th- and 5th-grade, both in-person and virtual learning, and creating instructional plans that align with district curriculum and TEA guidelines. Collaborate with special education teachers and 504 teams to modify curricula for students with special needs; present subject matter according to TEA policies; plan and execute lessons with accommodations; use technology in planning and classroom management; assist students in understanding learning processes; monitor and assess student achievement; supervise and evaluate teacher aides/volunteers; participate in extracurricular activities; maintain professional conduct and confidentiality; stay informed of federal/state/district policies; communicate with students/parents and maintain professional relationships; participate in staff development; work 187 days annually; duties include using classroom technology and managing in-person learning environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, required
- Texas Teaching Certificate, with required endorsements for subject/level assigned or other permits as approved by state, required
- ESL Certification, required
