Job Summary
Interscholastic basketball coach responsible for educating students through competition while promoting academic achievement and ethical conduct. Duties include enforcing policies, ensuring participant safety and welfare in practices, locker rooms, and transportation, managing equipment and inventory, organizing and supervising practices and events, and developing strategies to encourage student participation. Head Coach duties extend to budget management, supervision of assistant and volunteer coaches, and ensuring compliance with district requirements and certifications. Requires CPR certification, Arizona teaching/substitute certification, background clearance, and principal approval; must be at least 21 years old and adhere to NO Pass/NO Play guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Candidate must be at least 21 years of age
- Possess a current CPR certification
- Meet all coaching qualifications, course requirements and certifications as determined by federal, state and District criteria
- Pass background investigation as outlined by the District
- Be recommended by Principal or designee
- Receive Governing Board approval
- Possess an active Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Possess a valid Arizona Teacher or Substitute Certificate
