Job Summary
Conduct daily cleaning maintenance across classrooms, common areas, gyms, and grounds while supervising the custodial crew to ensure standards for cleanliness, safety, and basic maintenance are met. Utilize equipment for scrubbing, vacuuming, buffing, and waxing floors; prepare for and clean up after events scheduled during the day or night. Monitor supply usage and inventory, report needs to the lead custodian, and maintain records of equipment and fire safety checks. Assist the building principal in general security and perform emergency cleaning as necessary. Maintain prompt attendance and a professional demeanor with all stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Work experience as a custodian
- Familiarity with chemical safety
- Familiarity with floor cleaning/care procedures
- Familiarity with the use of appropriate machinery
- Must be a self starter
- Must be reliable
- Prompt and regular attendance
- Exhibits a professional attitude and demeanor at all times in working with administrators, fellow employees, parents, students and other stakeholders
- Assure that the standards set for building cleanliness, basic maintenance and safety procedures are all met and maintained by the custodial staff
- Supervise the custodial crew to assure job responsibilities are met on a daily basis
- Actively participate in the daily cleaning maintenance activities required for the facility
- Utilizes various equipment for scrubbing, vacuuming, buffing, and waxing floors
- Prepare for and cleans up after events scheduled for the facility/grounds during the day and/or night
- Monitors uses, storage, and inventory of supplies and reports needs to lead custodian
- Keep records of periodic checks of equipment, fire extinguishers, playground items, etc
- Assists the building principal/supervisor in general security of the building and fire safety
- Performs emergency cleaning as necessary
- Perform various duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent
- Signed Liberty County School System Authorization for Release of Information form
- Two recommendations from previous supervisors
- One of the recommendations must be completed by a past immediate supervisor
- The other recommendation may be completed by a character reference
- If you do not have past employment, we will require two character references to complete the recommendation forms
- Copy of GED or high school/college diploma or college transcripts
- A LiveScan check is required with the initial application
- Criminal History check must be completed and on file
