Job Summary
Substitute Teacher/Maintenance Associate supports both instructional and facilities needs. During the school year, serves as a Substitute Teacher up to 4 days per week and a Maintenance Associate at least 1 day per week (total 40 hours weekly); during non-student days and summer, focuses on facility maintenance. Responsibilities include following classroom lesson plans, providing coverage across grade levels, performing light carpentry, painting, basic repairs, hauling, preventive maintenance of building systems, grounds upkeep, operation of hand and power tools, and safe operation of district vehicles. May respond to weather-related needs, perform custodial tasks, assist other maintenance staff, and be on-call for emergencies. Requires reliable attendance and flexibility to meet district needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must hold a valid Iowa Substitute Teacher License
- Basic knowledge of maintenance, grounds, and facilities work
