Job Summary

Adapt classroom activities and materials under teacher direction to reinforce instructional objectives. Administer tests, homework, and make-up work while assisting medically fragile or developmentally delayed students with personal hygiene and healthcare needs. Escort students to and from destinations, monitor behavior during non-classroom time, and intervene in conflicts using therapeutic approaches. Implement behavioral plans, provide social and academic instruction, and document all instructional materials and records. Communicate with staff and parents to evaluate progress and maintain a safe, positive learning environment.

Required Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • CPR Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • QBS Certificate
  • Criminal Background Clearance
  • Valid Arizona DPS Level I IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • adhering to safety practices
  • operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications
  • preparing and maintaining accurate records
  • basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios
  • read a variety of manuals
  • write documents following prescribed formats
  • present information to others
  • understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions
