Job Summary
Paraprofessional - Special Education Tier 4 at Ravenwood Elementary School provides instructional support and supervision for students with special needs in general or self-contained settings. Responsibilities include adapting activities under teacher direction, administering basic medical assistance as instructed by health professionals, implementing behavior plans, maintaining materials and records, supervising students across settings, participating in meetings, responding to emergencies, and performing routine clerical duties to support teachers. The role emphasizes assisting in instruction, modeling necessary skills, reinforcing objectives, implementing IEP-related plans, and ensuring student safety and well-being. Preferred qualifications include sixty college hours and a valid Missouri teaching certificate; required certifications include CPR/First Aid, medication administration training, MANDT, and substitute certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of instructional procedures and child development
- Ability to monitor safety and behavior
- Basic math and reading comprehension
- Clean criminal background
- Medication administration training as needed
- CPR/First Aid, MANDT training, Substitute Certificate
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong collaboration and teamwork
- Experience with IEPs and Tier 3 Behavior Interventions (preferred)
