Paraprofessional - Special Education Tier 1 supports the classroom by adapting activities and materials under a supervising teacher, administering assignments, and assisting in implementing IEP objectives. Responsibilities include monitoring student behavior, providing one-on-one and small-group instructional support, preparing research-based lessons with the supervising teacher, maintaining records, coordinating with teachers and community staff, and contributing to a safe, positive learning environment. The role involves assisting with routine clerical tasks, data collection, and helping students achieve remediation goals through structured instructional programs and behavior supports. Requires High School diploma or equivalent; qualifies for Missouri paraprofessional pathways including passing the Missouri paraprofessional test or completing the state substitute training, and maintaining a Substitute Certificate with Criminal Background Clearance.
