Job Summary
Preschool Instructional Aide assists the teacher in maintaining classroom activities and environment to support student learning. Responsibilities include working with individual students or small groups, devising reinforcement strategies for material or skills, operating and caring for instructional equipment, distributing and collecting materials, guiding independent study and enrichment, supervising students during drills, lunch, and field trips, maintaining confidentiality, participating in in-service training, alerting the teacher to student concerns, serving as a substitute teacher resource, assisting with lunch, snack and cleanup routines, performing clerical tasks, and other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Requires a high school diploma or GED and sixty college credits (or a passing ParaPro Assessment). Must obtain IVP fingerprint clearance and TB test within 10 days of start date. Reports to the Principal; terms of employment and evaluation per Board policy. High school diploma or GED; sixty college credits or ParaPro score required. Location: Yuma, AZ.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Sixty (60) college credits or a passing ParaPro Assessment score dated within the past 10 years must be submitted with the application
- Previous experience working with students preferred
- Ability to work harmoniously with staff and students
- Knowledge of District and Department policies and procedures; Pertinent local, state and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules
- Skill in: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
