Job Summary
Paraprofessional role providing instructional support in an assigned classroom, working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning objectives. Responsibilities include adapting activities and materials under teacher supervision, administering assignments and tests, assisting in office or other areas as needed, supporting students with reading/writing tasks, communicating with teachers to evaluate progress, implementing lesson plans, maintaining records and files, monitoring student behavior and safety in various settings (classroom, playground, field trips, library, lunchroom, bus), and performing routine clerical duties. The position requires assisting teachers in curriculum delivery, participating in meetings, and responding to emergencies to maintain a safe learning environment. Education required: High School diploma or equivalent; Missouri teaching certification preferred; additional substitutes training and background clearance as listed. Certificates/licenses include CPR/First Aid and Substitute Certificate.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A valid Missouri Teaching Certificate; Sixty college hours
- Equivalency: A minimum of thirty-six hours from an accredited college or university; or certificate of completion from approved Missouri 20-hour Online Substitute Training Program; or pass the Paraprofessional test in the State of Missouri.
