Job Summary
Deliver middle school science instruction while modeling core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, excellence, and community. Create and maintain positive classroom cultures through rigorous lesson planning, curriculum development, and assignment creation that foster student self-view and social-emotional growth. Use detailed data analysis of student performance to inform best practices and uphold high academic and behavioral expectations. Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues while working an extended school day for collaboration and professional development. Partner with administrative leadership to implement strategies for all students and complete assigned tasks aligned with the scope of the position.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Tennessee teaching license and endorsement(s) in the hired content area
- Valid teaching license from a state that offers reciprocity with TN
- Eligibility for Tennessee teaching license
- Two to four years of urban teaching and educational leadership experience
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Ability to work with a variety of learning abilities, including those with low skill levels in a heterogeneously grouped classroom setting
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
