Job Summary
Conduct middle school mathematics instruction while modeling core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, excellence, and community. Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations through continuous reflection, flexibility, and growth to foster students' positive self-view and support their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. Create and maintain a positive classroom culture by reinforcing school-wide rules, developing curriculum, creating assignments, and using detailed data analysis to inform best practices. Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues while maintaining accurate records required by law and district regulations. Work an extended school day to collaborate with the Head of School, Assistant Head of School, and Dean of Students on strategies for student success and to engage in professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Tennessee teaching license and endorsement(s) in the hired content area
- Valid teaching license from a state that offers reciprocity with TN
- Eligibility for Tennessee teaching license
- Two to four years of urban teaching and educational leadership experience
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Ability to work with a variety of learning abilities, including those with low skill levels in a heterogeneously grouped classroom setting
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
