Job Summary
The Math Teacher will design and deliver instructional activities and experiences for middle/high school students to promote intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Responsibilities include designing, writing, and using lesson plans aligned to the charter’s curriculum; ensuring modifications for diverse learning styles; collaborating with special education staff on IEP implementation; employing data-driven instructional strategies; managing classrooms; coordinating with parents and school staff; and supporting professional development and extracurricular responsibilities. The role requires a BA/BS in the subject area, state charter credentialing, and strong organizational and communication skills. Salary range $61,000–$85,000 per year; location at Magnolia Public Schools in Reseda, CA.
Required Qualifications
- BA or BS (as appropriate) degree in subject matter
- California Commission on Teacher Credentialing credential, certificate, permit or other documentation equivalent to what a teacher in other public schools would be required to hold
- Highly qualified in core courses as defined in the section titled “NCLB and Credentialing Requirements”
- Understanding of subjects assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Capability of instructing students and managing their behavior
- Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
