Job Summary
Provide instructional support to at-risk students in an inclusion setting under supervision of teachers and administrators. Duties include assisting individuals or small groups with assignments, coordinating with classroom staff to reinforce skills, collecting/state-federal reports for the Children At-Risk Program, making parent contacts as needed, coordinating instructional activities (e.g., reading tests, remediation), and maintaining professional, confidential conduct while supporting a high-quality instructional environment. Requires an associate degree or 48 college hours and Paraprofessional Certification, with bilingual English/Spanish communication and strong interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or a minimum of 48 college hours
- Paraprofessional Certification (required upon employment)
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to read, write, and communicate clearly and concisely in English and Spanish
- One year of experience in school setting (preferred)
- Background in working with at-risk children (preferred)
- Basic computer skills such as keyboard/word processing
