Job Summary
Conduct classroom activities and reinforce learning for individual students or small groups based on material introduced by the teacher. Assist in devising special strategies for reinforcing skills, distribute and collect workbooks, and guide independent study, enrichment, and remedial work. Operate and care for instructional equipment, supervise students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, lunch, and field trips, and maintain ethical behavior and confidentiality. Alert the regular teacher to student problems, serve as the chief resource for substitute teachers, and assist with lunch, snack, cleanup routines, and clerical tasks. Work 21.25 hours per week over 184 days.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Sixty (60) college credits
- Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment taken within last 10 years
