Job Summary
Design and implement the athletic program for festival volleyball, including developing practice regimes, game strategies, and team schedules. Assess student athletes for performance feedback and placement, while instructing them to promote athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Supervise assistant coaches, volunteers, and student managers, ensuring compliance with the PVUSD Athletic Code of Conduct and academic eligibility requirements. Conduct supporting activities such as parent orientations, recognition events, and off-season clinics to promote program interest. Maintain records for game statistics, insurance, and equipment inventories, responding to inquiries from parents, media, and college representatives. Report issues to the Athletic Director and ensure all personnel hold required clearances.
Required Qualifications
- District approved volunteer status
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate
- Valid Arizona Coaching Certificate
- Completed Fundamentals of Coaching course
- Completed First Aid/CPR course
- Completed Sport Specific course
- Completed teaching sport skills course (if sport is not offered from NFHS)
- Criminal Background Clearance
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Non Exempt employment classification
- Ability to administer first aid
- Ability to apply pertinent laws, codes, policies, and/or regulations
- Ability to coordinate activities with other schools, districts and/or agencies
- Ability to communicate with persons of varied educational and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to exhibit strong leadership
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to model sportsmanship and enforce sportsmanlike behavior among students
- Ability to motivate participating student athletes
- Ability to provide a firm, fair, and consistent discipline approach
- Ability to provide leadership, direction, and team building
- Ability to travel to off campus athletic events
- Ability to travel to off campus competitions
- Ability to work extended hours that may include evenings and/or weekends
