Job Summary

Develop appropriate IEPs and EPs while ensuring strict adherence to IDEA, Section 504, and state mandates. Adapt lessons and provide direct instructional support to general education teachers and students with disabilities based on individual plans. Serve as the LEA representative in IEP/EP team meetings, mediations, and due process hearings, guiding school-based personnel on policy changes. Uphold a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student character and social-emotional development while maintaining transparent relationships with families. Dedicate 40+ hours per week at school, participating in department trainings and campus functions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited four-year institution
  • Active Florida Teaching Certification in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) or at least one specific area of exceptionality
  • Expert understanding of the referral, evaluation, and placement process
  • Demonstrated ability to write compliant IEPs
  • Demonstrated ability to manage student behavior
  • Successful completion of a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Exceptional Student Education or Special Education
  • Prior experience serving as an LEA representative
  • Prior experience leading IEP teams in a public or charter school setting
