Job Summary
Magnolia Public Schools seeks a 2026-27 English Teacher for Middle/High School to design, write and implement lesson plans aligned with the charter’s curriculum; collaborate with special education staff to align IEPs with instructional goals; deliver instruction to develop students’ intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth; employ technology to strengthen instruction; manage classroom behavior; communicate with parents and administrators; coordinate with staff on instructional goals, student progress, and extracurricular duties; support professional development and comply with state/charter regulations. The role involves teaching English subjects, meeting credential requirements, and contributing to a culture of accountability, professional development, and student success. Salary range: $61,000 - $85,000 per year. Education requirement: BA or BS in subject matter; credential or permit as required for California public schools. Location: Van Nuys, CA (two Magnolia Public Schools sites listed).
Required Qualifications
- BA or BS (as appropriate) degree in subject matter
- California Commission on Teacher Credentialing credential, certificate, permit or other documentation equivalent to what a teacher in other public schools would be required to hold
- Highly qualified in core courses as defined in the section titled “NCLB and Credentialing Requirements”
- Understanding of subjects assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Capability of instructing students and managing their behavior
- Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
