Job Summary
Lead art instruction for PreK-12 students by modeling core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, excellence, and community while fostering positive self-views through social, emotional, and intellectual development. Design lesson plans, develop curriculum, and create assignments that introduce art pedagogy and history concepts, utilizing detailed data analysis to inform best practices and ensure cross-curricular alignment. Maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with families and colleagues, and collaborate with administrative staff to implement strategies for student success. Work an extended school day for collaboration and professional development, adhering to state mandates and completing assigned duties.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Tennessee teaching license and endorsement(s) in the hired content area (HISTORY/Social Studies)
- Valid teaching license from a state that offers reciprocity with TN
- Eligibility for Tennessee teaching license
- Two to four years of urban teaching and educational leadership experience

- Master's Degree
- Ability to work with a variety of learning abilities, including those with low skill levels in a heterogeneously grouped classroom setting
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
