Job Summary
Lead program evaluations, develop federal and state facility projects, and integrate special education into the total school program. Provide leadership in curriculum development, interview instructional candidates for Special Education areas, and supervise student record keeping. Coordinate staff conferences, procure specialized materials, and maintain strong public and community relations by interacting with parents, agencies, and businesses. Disseminate current research, trends, and best practices while facilitating staff development activities and attending assigned training sessions. Support school improvement initiatives and serve on system, state, or community councils as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- B.A. or B.S. degree
- CA Credential as Education Specialist with mild/moderate or severe designation
- Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area
- Knowledge of IEP goal setting process and implementation
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- California Commission on Teacher Credentialing certificate, permit or other documentation equivalent to what a special education teacher in other public schools would be required to hold
- Highly Qualified in accordance with the No Child Left behind Act
Desired Qualifications
