2026-27 Dean of Academics (Millbranch ES)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Dean of Academics will oversee instructional operations and impact learning by monitoring classroom instruction, managing all internal and external assessment data, and guiding curriculum development. Responsible for direct oversight of instructional staff, the role includes supervising daily instructional work, conducting weekly teacher observations with constructive feedback, and communicating regularly with the Head of School regarding student achievement, curriculum development, professional development, staff evaluations, and budgetary needs. Key duties also include ensuring alignment of curriculum with Tennessee standards, implementing internal assessment systems, sharing best practices, and supporting staff licensure and extended-day collaboration.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include leading curriculum development and student assessment, overseeing professional development, guiding assessment quality, vetting yearlong objectives, analyzing data, maintaining records, and fostering strong relationships with students, families and colleagues.
