Job Summary
Maintain and supervise campus custodial operations to keep buildings and grounds in a clean, safe condition; inspect facilities daily, assist with furniture and equipment movement, conduct monthly safety meetings, oversee other custodians, maintain cleaning schedules and inventory, perform safety and asbestos-awareness training, document time logs, and be prepared for irregular hours including nights/weekends; requires bilingual English/Spanish, ability to operate cleaning equipment, read/write effectively, and lift/heavy equipment; work in McAllen, TX under McAllen ISD with pay range $13.85–$19.13 hourly (paid monthly) and Pay Grade 3, 242 workdays, with opportunity to perform building painting in summer and cross-guard duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred
- Clear driving record, required
- Valid Texas driver’s Class C license, required
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish
- Ability to read, write and speak effectively
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment
- Ability to handle cleaning supplies safely
- Ability to perform minor repairs of building and grounds maintenance tools and equipment
- Three (3) years of experience as a custodian or related field, required
