Job Summary

Conduct daily cleaning functions including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing floors, washing windows, and maintaining restrooms to ensure a sanitary, orderly school environment. Perform snow removal, shoveling, salting, and securing against wind damage during inclement weather while applying cleaning chemicals per safety procedures. Execute minor repairs, painting, and maintenance tasks; advise the principal on mechanical equipment issues. Initiate maintenance service requests, manage cleaning supply inventory, and secure equipment against pilferage. Lock and code out the building at shift end, verify emergency equipment, and assist in emergency planning. Maintain awareness of facility safety, detect potential injuries, and communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and families.

Required Qualifications

  • completed an apprenticeship or the equivalent within the specific trade/craft area
  • trained in First Aid
  • CPR and defibrillator training
  • Ability to communicate and maintain good working relations with all District employees, vendors, contractors, and public entities
  • ability to work effectively in an environment with frequent interruptions requiring the ability to concentrate and consistently produce accurate work while responding to interruptions and changing priorities
  • Initiative and ability to work with minimal direction
  • sound judgment and decision making capabilities
  • Knowledge of state and local codes related to assigned trade/craft
  • valid Washington State driver's license
  • safe driving record
  • able and willing to operate district owned vehicles
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to lift heavier materials using appropriate equipment
  • Ability to work using ladders, scaffolding, mechanical lifts and district vehicles

  • Must complete a satisfactory fingerprint and sexual misconduct background check
  • Proof that the fingerprinting process has begun must be supplied to Human Resources prior to the first day of employment

Desired Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • Experience with and knowledge of: intrusion alarms
  • Experience with and knowledge of: automatic fire alarm/sprinkler systems
  • Experience with and knowledge of: HVAC systems and controls
  • computer controlled type experience
