2026-27 Chinese Immersion Long Term Sub Teacher, 0.6 FTE

Job Summary
Collaborate in a fast-paced middle school setting to teach Chinese immersion (Grade 6-8) with native/near-native Mandarin fluency and ACTFL Superior proficiency. Demonstrate English communication with parents, implement Total Physical Response (TPR) methods, develop and translate lesson plans aligned to the district curriculum, and provide individualized and small-group instruction. Maintain student behavior standards, assess and report academic and social growth, identify needs for referrals and IEP strategies, communicate regularly with families via Schoology, newsletters, calls, and conferences, and work with colleagues and supervisors to stay current with best practices while integrating technology into instruction. Include duties such as planning and coordinating paraprofessional or volunteer support as needed and contributing to goal-setting processes. Position is a 0.6 FTE long-term substitute role at Minnetonka Middle School West, MN.
Required Qualifications
- Minnesota K-12 Chinese Teacher license
- Native fluency or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese (ACTFL Superior)
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
