Job Summary
Administer first aid for ill, medically fragile, or injured children and assist students with personal care needs such as diapering, toilet training, and feeding. Monitor individual and group behaviors across various settings including snack time, playground activities, and quiet time to ensure a safe learning environment. Implement age-appropriate instructional programs and lesson plans under supervision while organizing indoor and outdoor activities to reinforce learning concepts. Prepare nutritional snacks and lunches in compliance with established guidelines, distribute play materials, and maintain classroom equipment and records. Transfer children directly to and from parents or designees to ensure safety. Complete a minimum of 18 verifiable hours of approved training annually and maintain acceptable behavior standards consistent with district policy.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Level One Fingerprint Card
- CPR Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- Copy of MMR Vaccination Record
- Criminal Background Clearance
- Valid Arizona DPS Level I IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records
- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Ability to understand multi-step written and oral instructions
- Knowledge of stages of child development
- Knowledge of methods of motivating and controlling children
- Knowledge of awareness of codes, regulations and laws related to counseling students
- Ability to schedule activities
- Ability to gather and/or collate data
- Ability to use basic, job-related equipment
