Job Summary
Autism Support Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year with Summit ESC (full-time, benefits). Assists students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in classroom activities, supports participation, helps with daily living skills (e.g., removing coat, zipping, buttoning, tying shoes, toileting), assists with behavior interventions and reinforcement activities as directed by the teacher, and supervises students in halls, restrooms, playgrounds, during gross motor activities, snack/lunch, and boarding the bus. Sets up and cleans up classroom centers (art, music, fine motor, etc.). Requires a High School Diploma and an issued ODE educational aide permit (or ability to obtain one), successful completion of pre-employment screenings, and flexibility for such board-approved alternatives. Salary schedule placement commensurate with experience and training. Summit ESC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- An issued ODE educational aide permit, or able to obtain a permit from the Ohio Department of Education
- Successful completion of all pre-employment screenings
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
