Job Summary
Assist in coaching the cheer program at North Kansas City High School by teaching essential cheer skills, planning and scheduling a regular practice program in-season, and coordinating with the athletic director and Head Coach on contests and program needs. Responsibilities include recommending equipment and maintaining attendance and insurance records, overseeing facility safety, establishing eligibility criteria for interscholastic competition, enforcing discipline and sportsmanship, organizing and supervising the total sports program, and demonstrating effective communication and adherence to district policies. Strong coaching experience and Missouri teaching certificate or DESE substitute certification are preferred to support student skill development and program integrity.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Missouri teacher or substitute certificate issued through DESE
- Preferred coaching experience in the sport
- Knowledge, skills, abilities to perform essential functions
- Ability to plan and schedule practices in-season
- Ability to work with athletic director and Head Coach
- Ability to maintain attendance forms and insurance records
- Comply with district rules, regulations, and policies
- Regular and consistent attendance as essential function
