Job Summary
Teach 6th-12th grade History at Prep Public Schools, delivering state-aligned content and Prep curricula, planning and assessing student learning, communicating progress with families weekly, and participating in weekly meetings and campus events. Responsibilities include creating and submitting lesson plans two weeks in advance, using technology for instruction and communication, maintaining gradebooks, implementing behavior management aligned with campus initiatives, providing targeted tutoring (including after-school and Saturday opportunities), and engaging in ongoing professional development to support students’ post-secondary pathways. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and Tennessee teaching license with the appropriate endorsement; urban K-12 classroom experience is strongly preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, plus the ability to adapt to a dynamic school environment, are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- Must hold a valid Tennessee teaching license with the proper endorsement code required for the assigned subject and grade level OR be willing to pursue a Tennessee teaching license with proper endorsement code required for the assigned subject and grade level
