Job Summary
Cafeteria cook responsible for preparing breakfast and lunch for MDPS students, following production menus/recipes, and ensuring quality food production with proper documentation. Duties include cleaning/serving/cashiering and dish room tasks, recording daily production on production records, adjusting recipes with supervisor guidance, complying with Child Nutrition guidelines, and potentially assuming leadership for opening/closing the kitchen as directed. Must be able to perform routine computations, interpret safety and procedure documents, and communicate professionally with students, parents, CN staff, and school facility personnel. The role requires physical endurance to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a dynamic school cafeteria environment; remote work is contingent on crisis-related needs as determined by the superintendent or supervisor. Education and experience prerequisites include a high school diploma or GED and basic data-entry skills, with the capacity to follow schedules and collaborate with the supervisor and co-workers.
