Job Summary
Head Varsity Cross Country Coach responsible for leading the Laurel Senior High School program. Develops and communicates coaching philosophy, teaches fundamental XC skills, creates a well-organized practice schedule with clear objectives, and uses effective coaching strategies. Coordinates with assistant coaches, sponsors effective communication with athletic administration, and ensures compliance with DIAA rules and school policies. Responsibilities include maintaining team and individual records, publicizing team achievements, managing equipment inventory, coordinating with booster clubs, scheduling meets, and supporting student-athlete academic progress. Requires collaboration with staff, students, parents, and media, and adherence to district guidelines and budget procedures. Prior experience in coaching and familiarity with DIAA procedures are preferred; candidate should demonstrate professional conduct and a commitment to student-athlete development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Teaching Certificate preferred
- Previous coaching experience preferred
- Familiarity with DIAA rules, regulations, procedures, and policies preferred
- Ability to work effectively with staff, students and parents; familiarity with school/DIAA rules, regulations, procedures and policies
