Job Summary
Teach two sections of 8th Grade Science, two sections of Physics, and one section of AP Physics in a college-preparatory setting. Develop and deliver engaging, inquiry-based science instruction that promotes critical thinking and problem-solving; prepare students for success in advanced science coursework including AP Physics; design and implement lessons, labs, demonstrations, and assessments aligned with departmental goals and course standards; foster a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom and laboratory environment; assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback; communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues; collaborate with Science Department members and participate fully in school life; maintain accurate records related to student progress and classroom activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Science Education, or a related field required
- Master's degree preferred
- Experience teaching Physics and AP-level coursework preferred
- Teacher licensure preferred
- Strong content knowledge in physics and general science
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Commitment to fostering student growth, curiosity, and engagement in the sciences
- Ability to work collaboratively within a collegial school environment
