Job Summary
Direct and manage the campus theatre program at Holub Middle School, overseeing instructional planning, budgeting, staffing, compliance with state and district requirements, and opportunities for student achievement and district/state recognition. Lead middle school theatre instruction across acting, costuming, set design, lighting, sound, and directing; coordinate performances and transportation for off-campus events; support booster clubs and fundraising; recruit and evaluate theatre staff; ensure program alignment with district policies and the high school cluster program. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in theatre, a valid Texas theatre teaching certificate, and ESL certification timeline; strong communication, budgeting, and personnel management skills; experience directing and/or technical theatre and one-act plays; knowledge of UIL, TETA, ITS policies, and district procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in theatre from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate in theatre
- ESL Certification preferred or ESL Certification required within two years of employment beginning with teachers hired in 2010-11 school year
- Theatre directing/technical experience preferred
- Experience with one act play required
- Knowledge of budget and personnel management
- Knowledge of state, UIL, TETA, and ITS policies governing theatre activities
