Job Summary
Interrelated Teacher provides face-to-face instruction in the Douglass High School building for students with learning disabilities, a mild intellectual disability and/or emotional behavioral disorder, using differentiated instructional strategies and a range of materials. Responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons, preparing and grading assessments, administering state/local testing processes, utilizing computers and audio-visual aids, supporting students with tutoring, collaborating with teachers and administrators, maintaining student records, and conducting in-person conferences with parents/guardians. The role requires in-person presence during regular school hours, adherence to sanitation standards, and the ability to adapt between in-person learning environments while upholding professional communication and classroom management. Required qualifications include SRT4-Certification in Special Education General Curriculum P-12 or equivalent, a Bachelor's Degree, and relevant licensure or certification; strong written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to work with students, staff, and families in a professional manner.
Required Qualifications
- MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: CERTIFICATION: Minimum of SRT4-Certification in Special Education General Curriculum P-12 or related field; OR Passed the GACE Special Education General Curriculum AND completion of the GACE Ethics Program Entry Assessment
- EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree required with at least a 2.5 GPA
- WORK EXPERIENCE: Work experience gained through education and certification/license requirements.
- Available for face-to-face instruction within the school building with students present
