Job Summary
2nd Grade Math/Science teacher responsible for delivering TEA-aligned instruction, developing lesson plans, and assessing student progress. Collaborates with staff and parents, maintains classroom management, adheres to district policies, and participates in required meetings and professional development. Must hold a Bachelor's degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate with subject endorsements, plus ESL certification within 2 years of hire. role includes probationary contract (187 days) with responsibilities across core content areas and district initiatives (ARD, LPAC, RtI) and compliance with district/school procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
- Current ESL Certification or ESL certification required within 2 years of employment for teachers hired in 2010-2011
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Gifted Teachers must have 30 hours of gifted approved hours
- Completion of student teaching or approved internship
