Job Summary
Provide direct behavioral support to students in classrooms, hallways, and during school activities while monitoring behavior throughout the day. Build authentic relationships with students through daily interactions, de-escalate crises using approved techniques, and reinforce school-wide behavioral expectations. Conduct restorative conversations, perform daily wellness check-ins, and assist with student re-entry meetings following disciplinary actions. Support the planning and implementation of school-wide culture initiatives, including PBIS, restorative circles, and Tier I, II, and III behavioral interventions. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to develop attendance improvement plans and participate in the Multi-Tiered System of Supports team. Partner with the Director of Culture to cultivate a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a public charter school or public school
- Training or experience in Restorative Practices, or Conflict Resolution
- Knowledge of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and trauma-informed practices
- Knowledge of positive behavior, supports trauma-informed practices, and restorative approaches
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional during challenging situations
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and families
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and electronic documentation
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Growth minded, receiving and incorporating feedback from team leaders, executive leadership and peers
- Ability to safely implement approved crisis intervention techniques when required
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
