Job Summary
Assist teachers in preparing and managing classroom activities, including implementing self-help programs and behavior management, while following verbal and written instructions. Provide clerical services to administrative staff and facilitate campus office operations. Work under the general supervision of the principal and immediate direction of a certified teacher. Perform physical tasks including stooping, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and prolonged standing in both classroom and office settings. Positions are available on an as-needed basis; applicants must provide three references and complete the online paraprofessional clerical application.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability and demonstrated aptitude in the instruction of students in assigned area
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Physically capable of meeting all performance responsibilities required with students, including stooping, bending and lifting
- Assist the teacher(s) in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements
- Assist in the implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management and instruction
- Work under the general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of a certified teacher
- Assist in routine work activities, facilitating the efficient operation of the campus administrative office and provide clerical services to the administrative staff
- Prolonged standing
- Frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
- Frequent walking
- Frequent light lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling (less than 15 pounds)
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling (up to 50 pounds)
- Work inside and outside, regular exposure to noise and the elements
- Maintain control under stress
- Three references
